Fifteen years ago, give or take, I traveled to Oakland, California as an artist in residence at Creative Growth where I had the opportunity to work with dozens of talents including Dan Miller, pictured above. The experience was a pivotal moment in my life, opening my eyes and mind to other ways of seeing, speaking, and ultimately navigating the human experience. Today is the last day of the Outsider Art Fair (PARIS), and I am here in the CG booth, surrounded by Miller’s work but also paintings, drawings, and sculptures by other artists of equal vision.
