Sunset colors are caused by the low angle of the sun passing through the atmosphere and reflecting off particulates in the air. These particulates include fine dust and sand, water droplets and even pollution. Different geographical locations have differing amounts and types of particulates in the atmosphere, causing sunsets to display unique colors in each location.
