From Start to Finney: last Thursday I freewheeled into Biarritz with my mum, having cycled all the way along the west French coast from Roscoff. Neither words nor 10 small images can do justice to how happy (and hard) this trip was, but here’s some numbers: 720-odd miles (we got lost a bit) 60 butter pats (wish I’d not added that up, actually 🧈) 30 pastries (🌟pistachio-almond pain choc in La Rochelle) 22 crevettes ( 🌟Manuia with garlicky mayo, overlooking the oyster beds 🦐) 20 boules of ice cream (🌟black sesame in Biarritz 🍨) 18ish mph on average (🌬a plague on all the headwind that brought this down) 15 1/2 days 12 cheeses (🌟the crottin de chevre abricot lavande in Biarritz, closely followed by the chaource) 5 ARRRGGHHHHH moments (😡the one in the marshes with the headwind and the mosquitos, where I lost my shit whilst the munching cows looked quizzically on) 3 Fromage Fri’s (LOVED returning to these, thanks so much for watching 🧀) 2 bikes (Ruby and Valerie 🚴🏼‍♀️) 1 ultimate companion ❤️ 0 punctures Infinite joy 🥰 #roscofftobiarritz #fromstarttofinney #velodyssee #envelo #cyclecuisine #enfrance
