Today in Dakar, Senegal, @chanelofficial revealed its Métiers d’Art 2022/23 collection - the first fashion show by a Europe or US-based luxury house to be presented in Sub-Saharan Africa. Speaking before the show, Chanel’s creative director @virginieviard told Vogue that the collection - and its accompanying collaborations with Senegalese artisans, musicians, writers, dancers, models and more - have been three years in the making. Some of these collaborations will see artisanal partnerships between Paris and Dakar further developed and cultivated via 19M, Chanel’s hub for its Métiers d’Art ateliers.
