July marks five years of me working in mental health! In the past few days I’ve struggled to come up with a way to properly share the many lessons I have learned so far. Two days ago on a ft with @clara_bollinger she pitched the idea of sharing the stories and lessons of “people who have helped along the way”. The moment she said that, it felt right. It is not that I have reached a crazy benchmark in success - rather hitting any achievement offers a beautiful chance to reflect and grow. Equally, it lets us take the time to appreciate the people who have impacted our lives. So, in the next five weeks, every Friday (starting tomorrow), I will come out with a post on my website (and share it on ig) about a person; or group of people, that have taught me a meaningful lesson around mental health and life in the past five years. Mental health may be an individual experience, but the people we interact with impacts us. So I hope that these stories and lessons may resonate with you. Much love! Thanking God for it all :) (The videos I’m sharing in this post are some highlights of research interviews, info of each is below) @_unny_ @backofmymind__ sharing her definition of mental health! CEO of AbleMind, a company based in Sweden working towards mental health support sharing general advice on mental health and wellbeing @doclauravater , MD MPH Oncology fellow sharing the mental health concerns for clinicians (with a feature of @dspies99) Dr. Shekhar Saxena - Director of the Department of Mental Health and Substance abuse at the @WHO and Professor at Harvard - sharing the question any young person needs to ask themselves coming into the field of mental health!
