Tag friends who add value to your life 💛👇🏽⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is a quote from my first book, #GoodVibesGoodLife. However, I have changed the wording slightly to reflect a warmer tone.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Although I’ve gone into depth about this topic in my book, I'd like to share something important. The word "value" is often misunderstood and taken out of context. We've all probably heard this quote: "I know what I bring to the table. So trust me when I say I'm not afraid to eat alone."⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But, some people believe that the individuals around them should resemble perfection. Perhaps they think that the people around them should have their life together, carry lots of clout, never say anything offensive, bring wealth and opportunities, etc. Ironically, many of us hold these expectations of others, while we don't possess these qualities ourselves.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Sometimes, all you need to bring to the table is an ear to listen, a hand to hold, kindness and understanding. The people around the table are important, but it's not about their status or using each other – it's about supporting each other through authentic connection and allowing yourselves to blossom. Cultivating a healthy environment is key.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Nearly all of us have kept people active in our lives for the sake of our history with them. Some of us may have even held on to these individuals based on how they can benefit our lives, somewhat superficially. I've even kept someone present in my life because I felt indebted to them – for something they once did for me. Nevertheless, if someone is the source of emotional (or physical) pain, or if you can't be yourself around them, or if they no longer align with your values and ambitions to evolve, you can gracefully let go.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You can move on from people as an act of self-care and growth. Being devoted to your journey ahead will often mean that some people cannot travel with you. You don't have to dislike anyone or create enemies out of the people whose roles you choose to retire.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #VexKing
