💭 A case for #climatereparations - those least responsible for the climate crisis are bearing the brunt of environmental injustice - which raises the question, who’s responsible for providing aid and relocation for cities and sometimes entire nations globally that will no longer be safe to inhabit due to things like sea level rise? I’m a proponent for climate reparations, and in some ways this story from the @nytimes can be seen as a current example of that. But who gets funding first and how is that determined? Only 5 out of the 11 tribes that applied received funding and the criteria that was used for selection hasn’t been released to the public.
