New photoshoot of VoxelChair v1.0 for an upcoming publication . Stay tuned! Shot at @nagami.design with @carlota_nbv VoxelChair v1.0 is a collaboration between @auar__ and @nagami.design . It uses a new design software developed explicitly for robotic 3D-Printing. This software introduces a discrete design method to generate complex, non-repetitive toolpaths for spatial extrusion. The software establishes a new design method which allows to generate 3D objects from the combination of discrete toolpath fragments. This allows a local optimisation of the structure, avoiding the use of global, computationally expensive, problem-solving algorithms. After prototyping the printing process in a limited number of discrete units, those are instantiated and connected to generate a ready-to-print continuous line. VoxelChair v1.0 was first developed for the exhibition “Imprimer Le Monde” at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and later became part of the museum’s permanent collection.
