BIG NEWS!
Friends, meet our Nana. From feral to family.
When my daughter was two she began asking for a dog. To satisfy her, I casually said, “When you’re eight we can get one.” Not knowing at the time she was autistic and would remember that very conversation.
Ironically, in her eighth year of life, I felt like our family was finally steady enough to expand.
I knew I wanted to adopt, and let me tell you, I was lead to people who are doing the Lord’s work.
Get this: @thepawerfulrescue takes dogs who are DIFFERENT, disabled, or often overlooked and rehabilitates them before finding their forever homes (in the most personalized beautiful thorough way, might I add).
Nana (a nod to the dog in Peter Pan), was in rough shape in the shelter. There is no doubt in my mind she would’ve been euthanized if they didn’t see potential underneath her pain.
And look at her now. Rocking a bandana with a big sister and brother who have waited their entire lives for this kind of love.
I can’t wait to tell you about her. She is a dream. Our house is alive again.
We may have rescued her—but Nana came to care for us.
