#ManoMonday! Ezra is curious if a shark’s teeth grow back? ——————————————————————————————— This is crazy to believe, but sharks actually have rows and rows of teeth that are constantly forming (swipe to sea!). These teeth are on a conveyor belt of sorts, so that each time the shark loses a tooth another one pops right up in it’s place like a Pez candy! Sharks can’t chew like us; they can’t move their jaw from side to side, only up and down. So they do a lot of shaking their head back and forth to break up their meals, making it really easy for them to lose teeth. In fact, a sign of a healthy shark population is finding shark teeth in the sand. If you’re not finding shark teeth on the beach, that is an indicator that the shark population in that area may be in danger. And with sharks threatened all over the world and their numbers currently projected to be declining at a very fast rate, it’s important to act now to save these apex predators responsible for keeping the ocean clean and our h20 flowing. Stay tuned to this Instagram feed because a very jawesome shark tooth contest will be popping up sometime in the near future where you can win a sustainably sourced shark tooth for helping save them! They need our help badly; as I was searching for a picture to post of their jaws so many real shark jaws came up for sale. These animals are worth so much more alive than as curios. Let’s change the tide together. ——————————————————————————————— Live Shark Photo @chiaraphoto Post @trumermaid ——————————————————————————————— #oneoceanglobal #oneoceanglobalambassador #oneoceandiving #sharkteeth #sharktooth #apexpredatornotmonster #sharktalk #jaws #sharkjaws #savingjaws #pez #pezdispenser #conveyorbelt #perfectpredator #helpsavesharks #saveoursharks #haleiwa #alohavibes #biology #sharkfacts #themoreyouknow #shark #sharks #letstalkaboutit #oneoceansharks #ocean #sharky #tigershark #science
