I was able to befriend Virgil Abloh during the fall of 2017 at a dinner party in New York. Within a month, we were speaking together at GARAGE’s first “Art Talks.” Virgil was always fantastic and I found being with him very stimulating and thought provoking. He had a vision and knew how to go about creating a grand platform for his work and ideas. Every creative area that Virgil was involved with - fashion, art, or music - he was changing the landscape of that form. Virgil was always engaging and supportive to his friends and the world around him. I was shocked to hear the news about Virgil’s passing. He lived a vast life based in generosity and creativity.
