#CampTeton #WineCave Man, did we drink a lot of vino in this wine cave during our install! The two starring elements in the most magical space on the property were pitched to our clients 5 long years ago as truly wacky ideas. Wacky idea #1. "We'd like to cover the walls of the powder room and the vestibule leading to it- ceilings and all- in antique rug remnants, cool?" Clients said "Sure!" Wacky idea #2. "We found this amazing artist that does these dope, faceted alabaster pendants and we wanna suspend a million of them from different mismatched chains... but they're not designed that way and it would mean a collab with another artist, and getting it all UL listed, and a bunch of other hoops to jump through... cool?" "We love it. Make it happen!" Both of these ideas wound up being sooo much work and took several years to fully realize but we are So. Damn. Proud. of our friends/ collaborators for committing to the ideas with as much passion as we did. For the chandelier, @randyzieber (aforementioned uber talented lighting designer) was totally game to work with our dear friend @jasonjkoharik to develop his alabaster pendants (until then, suspended by thin cables) into a heavy, masculine, cave appropriate installation. Jason hand patinated the chain and worked through a complicated/genius approach to running this many separate fixtures off of three three j boxes while leaving me and my team the flexibility to move them around until we got them just right (this took 48 hours and 575843959 bottles of wine). For the rug walls, Sam and our friends @woven.is let us into their remnant stash and worked tirelessly with us to create a patchwork of random rugs. We had our builders template plywood sheeting- creating cutouts for plumbing, light switches, etc- and ship off all of the panels to LA where Sam put his team to work patching the pieces together until every inch of plywood was covered. Then they shipped the whole shebang back to WY and team HS drank wine and, full transparency here, hot glued the edges at the corners. It truly takes a village. So glad we have the most talented friends/ artists/ collaborators in ours! CampTeton Jackson Hole, WY 2019
