After nearly 4 weeks, I finally got my Instagram account back online after getting hacked! It was a pretty horrid experience, as I’m sure so many of you have also had to deal with - after absentmindedly clicking on a text I should’ve known was suspicious, my login info was changed and my account, and thus 10+ years of my life, work and memories vanished from the ether in an instant! A cold-hearted stranger, possibly on the other side of the planet, began extorting me for money claiming to be able to restore my account. Long story short, 4 weeks later, and thanks to @evachen and many angels at Meta and Instagram, I’m back here in this space and I couldn’t be happier. This forced pause with social media has been incredibly illuminating for me in so many ways: First, that old adage “you dont know the value of something until it’s gone” certainly rang true. All my past complaining and moaning about social media...never again. Now I fully realize the value of this platform and this community! Also, despite all my yoga and meditation practices, I have not been as MINDFUL as I should be, for had I been paying more attention in the moment, I wouldn’t have clicked on that link in the first place. Multitasking is a myth - no matter how busy I am or how much I have to do, I’m only ever really doing one thing at a time, and so I’m reminded once again to slow down, and be more present in the moment. Lastly, I’m just blown away again by the value and power of connection, relationships and community. I’m so grateful to be able to exchange with all of you once again, realizing that life is so much sweeter when it can be shared. And so we begin again... thank you! 🥰🙌🏻💫
