I am Serhii Korovainyi (@serhiikorovayny) from Ukraine. My works explore topics of ecology, conflict, and Ukrainian cultural heritage. I have never dreamed of becoming a war photographer, but everything crashed after Russia openly invaded my country on February 24, 2022. Now, I'm doing my best to share visuals from Ukraine with an international audience. Ruined by Russian rockets buildings, people in bomb shelters, maternity houses in the basement, volunteer fighters, and hundreds of refugees — these are just a few of the scenes that I've photographed during this time. Like all Ukrainians, I dream of returning to peaceful times before the Russian invasion.
