Happy Mother’s Day mom! Sadly I realized too late in life that you did everything you could to raise us. You went through so much growing up, World War II, coming to America from Italy, not knowing the language, getting divorced bringing me up all by yourself, remarrying having children, all took a toll on your mental health but you did the best you could and I love you for it. I have to say you were a strong force to be dealt with and I don’t think I know anyone who had as much energy and many friends as you did right till the very end. You loved your grandchildren so, so much and your great-grandchildren gave you so much joy. Your house was always full of friends. I wish I would’ve written down all those amazing recipes of great Neapolitan food you would cook. Growing up, Sundays were always about making that amazing Ragu and so much more and having the house full of guests for the Sunday dinner. It’s been a very, very long time since you are gone and I think of you often!
