The photo on the left is me at 17y/o, a junior in high school & 3 years into weight training, weighing 150lbs soaking wet. The photo on the right was taken this morning, 25y/o, almost(if not) 12 years of training, weighing in at 190lbs. I’ve posted a few transformation pics before, but for those of you who don’t know, I used to be very small. And it has been a long road uphill from there. With 4 & soon to be 5 bodybuilding shows under my belt, my mindset has been fine tuned over the years in order to maintain that focus & commitment that I need to stay on track. The biggest one being FOCUS. In this lifestyle, especially when you’re active in the sport of bodybuilding, you will face many obstacles/distractions/temptations that can & will destroy your vision if you’re not level-headed. During prep, I like to isolate myself from anything and everything that doesn’t have to do with my end-goal. You know yourself better than anyone, right? Part of this process is being accountable for yourself and accepting responsibility. Recognizing your weaknesses and knowing what to stay away from. And of course, discipline. Not touching those harmful foods, staying home from the club, getting up for the gym, doing your cardio, practicing those posing drills, etc. It’s the ultimate & most rewarding test of your own will-power.
