She’s the one who shows up. Who keeps it together when things fall apart. Who gives more than she gets, and does it without needing credit. That’s my mom. She taught me how to love just by being who she is. I wouldn’t be the mom—or the person—I am without her. Being a mom is equal parts magic and madness. It’s showing up when you’re exhausted. It’s feeling like you’re messing it all up and then getting one tiny moment that makes it all worth it. It’s everything. And I couldn’t do it alone.
