Stills from a project I shelved awhile back. I still really like the premise/structure but I think I was too eager to create something I could call mine and didn’t give it as much nurturing as I wanted it to. My perfectionist brain didn’t allow compromise for the smallest details so I ended up never publishing it because it didn’t fully satisfy me. Which is something I’m learning more as I go taking a leadership role in productions for clients, corporate, or my own personal works; compromise where you can but trust yourself enough to know where you cannot. Being in positions where over-compromising or allowing too many heads at the table directly diminishing the end product vs compromising vision to finish it is the juggling act of direction I suppose. No matter how good/bad a film is, big or small, it is an incredible feat to create one to begin with. I probably wont ever post the video for this but mainly so that I can revisit it again when I have more experience, resources and polish in the screenplay :) Grateful to everyone involved in this project. I learned a lot and made some great memories. I still really love a majority of shots I put together in this. And to any upcoming artists/filmmakers out there that may stumble on this, keep your head up, embrace your failures because they are your self guide to success. Until the next!
