GRADA KILOMBA: O BARCO / THE BOAT⁠ ⁠ A new, critically-acclaimed artwork by interdisciplinary artist @grada.kilomba is currently on display in our courtyard.⁠ ⁠ Presented in the UK for the first time, on the occasion of @154fair’s 10th anniversary, the 32-metre-long installation takes a configuration which outlines the lower ‘hold’ of a historical European slave ship.⁠ ⁠ Composed of 140 wood blocks charred with poems in 6 different languages, the work addresses the history of European maritime expansion and colonisation.⁠ ⁠ The installation will be activated by two FREE live performances: ⁠ Thu 13 Oct, 5-6pm ⁠ Fri 14 Oct, 1-2pm⁠ ⁠ See it for free until 20 Oct 2022.⁠ ⁠ Photo: Tim Bowditch
