Inside The Psychedelic Mexico City Home of Javier Senosiain
Earlier this year @visualsbypierre headed to Mexico City to visit Casa Orgánica, the famed home of Mexican architect Javier Senosiain. Designed and completed in 1984, Casa Orgánica opened to the public for the first time ever in late 2020. Prior to accepting visitors, the home was Senosiain’s family’s private residence and just one of the architect’s projects in the Naucalpan de Juárez area.
The building which sits on a hill overlooking the city was born from the idea of creating a space adapted to human habitation and the natural world. With no straight walls in the entire home, the design is meant to feel like entering some of the most sacred spaces of humankind: a womb, a cloister, a cave.
Speaking on the space Pierre recalls “there is nothing more inspiring than walking the grounds of this property, it’s like you get a glimpse into the mind of the brilliant man. You can often find yourself thinking you walked into some sort of mythical place where time stands still as nature and man live in harmony.”
