Hervé Télémaque: A Hopscotch of the Mind Opening tomorrow at Aspen Art Museum (@aspenartmuseum), from 04 November 2022 – 26 March 2023 First presented at the Serpentine Gallery in 2021, the exhibition marks the first institutional exhibition of works by Hervé Télémaque (b. 1937) in the US – newly presented with an intricately conceived exhibition design by Helen Marten. The exhibition is curated by the Serpentine Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist (@hansulrichobrist), former Associate Curator Joseph Constable (@josephconstable) and artist Helen Marten. A Hopscotch of the Mind brings together works made from the early 1960s until the present day, highlighting the enduring themes of Télémaque’s work through his multifaceted practice. The staging of the exhibition by Helen Marten references Télémaque’s play between graphic authority and painterly playfulness. Structured around motifs of recognizable architecture, which fragment between galleries, the viewing experience is one that moves in a process of construction and collapse.
