Thirteen hours inside @cathaypacific’s brand new Aria Suite, their most luxurious business class cabin to date (spoiler alert: it’s the shortest 13 hour flight ever 🥹) Cathay Pacific truly redefined business class travel when they unveiled the Aria suite on select 777-300ER aircrafts earlier this year. The highly anticipated cabin refresh is all about quiet luxury — neutral tones, ambiance lighting with elegant curves and tasteful mix of textures and materials (their iconic deep jade colour still makes appearances here and there of course). The new cabin is laid out on a 1-2-1 configuration similar to it’s predecessor but it now comes with a couple major upgrades: privacy door, 24” ultra HD, 4K IFE with state-of-the-art technology (including sleek new seat controls, Bluetooth connectivity, the lavatory indicator and more) — It’s more than a seat, it’s a suite. Every seat, of course, turns into a lie-flat bed, altho now it’s done in a press of a button. Having the privacy door was a game changer— the spacious bed, a couple mists of @bamford pillow spray on their comfortable bedding, with the door closed, felt like you’re in your own little luxurious cocoon. Service onboard was polished and graceful, it’s gentle but on point. Food and beverage offering was top notch — they’ve tapped Hong Kong’s Michelin Starred institutions @louise.hkg and @duddellshk to revamp their business class menu on outbound flights from HKIA and their wine list was quite notable. Earlier in July, they swept several notable awards from @skytrax_uk :Top 3 World’s Best Airlines and Cabin Crew, Best IFE, Best Business Class Lounge in Asia (more on this later) and more. Truly well-deserved. At the moment, the airline only flies the Aria suite on three routes — LHR, SYD and YVR being the first North American route, which makes sense knowing the historic relationship between Vancouver and Hong Kong.
