Before the month ended I wanted to make sure to finally give all of my thanks for this special event that happened. This month I had the absolute honor of having an article featured in City Magazine ( @roccitymag ). As someone who has spent their whole life in Rochester and being constantly inspired by all of the artists highlighted by City Mag and Wxxi (@wxxirochester ) . To get to have my story documented feels like a dream come true. In the past I never would have thought could come true. I always say my goal with my work is to inspire people and make the world better. To know that my art and presence as a Draglesque artist will always be around to inspire even long after I'm gone. While this might be a time to recieve my flowers, I also want to give my flowers to those who made all of this possible. 💐💐💐 Thank you to Rafael Rodriguez ( @floorsbylevvels ) for taking these gorgeous shots and helping me feel like a supermodel. Thank you to Vivian (@viviidarling ) & Kacey (@kacey_jay_c ) for offering your own words and thoughts about my draglesque journey. It was so special to get to reflect on the past few years through the eyes of folks I care about the most. A huge and very emotional thank you to Brianna Chantae ( @bcmilon ) for not only advocating for my story to be shared, but also using your words to share it. Getting to sit down and work on this article with you was one of those moments I'll never forget. This special moment wouldn't have been able to happen without you using your gift of writing to give my story flight. And finally thank you so much to City Magazine for being willing to let me grace your pages. Having a featured article like this was something that I thought could only happen in my dreams. But yall helped me make it into a reality. Hopefully, this will be one of many collaborations between us to come. Let this be reassurance to anyone that might not feel like they have the perfect body, or worry that your skin color might stop you, or that your gender might stop your dreams. We can do it too. Finally, let this be published proof of the new permanent path that I've forged in the Rochester scene. DRAGLESQUE 💛💛💛
