It’s easy to feel off with your training when one or more of these are not in check
1. Sleep being the most important, without quality sleep exercise will NOT work how you want it to. Sleep gives your body time to recover, conserve energy and build up the muscles worked during exercise. When we get enough good quality sleep the body produces growth hormone helping in building lean muscle and repair torn muscle.
2. Dehydration impairs the bodies ability to regulate heat causing your body temperature and heart rate to rise which makes you tire out quicker during exercise. This obviously affects cardiovascular strength and will stop you from getting in that zone that makes workouts feel so good.
3. Everyone knows the saying “you get out what you put in”. Eating foods high in fat, sugar and refined carbohydrates (most of which are “empty calories”) affect your training performance by draining your energy, weakening metabolism and contributing to weight gain.
4. Training without a goal in mind is basically just going through the motions of training/ spinning your wheels. If there is nothing to work towards or a time frame set for a specific goal you will never do what it takes to get there.
5. Proper warmups are essential for longevity of training career, joint health and injury prevention. Mobility and stretching with also allow for wider ranges of motion in exercises aiding in the effectiveness of exercises.
