Rohman lived his whole life with an untreated cleft and had learned to accept it despite his struggle to speak, eat and the constant bullying he experienced. He works as a tricycle driver to provide for his family and often would only eat bread dipped in water because of his inability to eat properly due to his cleft. A local social worker introduced Rohman to a local Smile Train partner and was able to quickly schedule his cleft surgery. He arrived at the hospital very nervous. But, to his surprise, he was immediately calmed and comforted by the care of our Smile Train medical partners Rohman can now eat and breathe normally and is healing more and more every day! He told our team he was excited that his story would be documented, shared, and he hopes that it encourages others to receive help no matter their age! ❤️
