As you watch Eli grow up, we’d love to tell you how he’s beat the odds to get here. It starts with a 7 month old cat named Moony (2nd & 3rd photo), who we came across at an animal control facility. She had Feline Panleukopenia (FP), a dangerous and highly contagious disease, which can be deadly for kittens. Sadly, on the way to our Medical Center, Moony had a stillbirth kitten before we even had a chance to find out she was pregnant. And clearly, something was wrong. Moony then had an emergency C-section, and of the three kittens, one was barely alive. After CPR, Eli took his first breaths. The next few weeks were crucial. As a neonate kitten, Eli was being bottle fed, and Moony was fighting her own battle in critical care with FP. Moony continued to prove that she’s a fighter, recovering from FP without incident. She was demanding (and receiving) love from everyone she met in no time, and found her adoptive family right away! And we are delighted to tell you that Eli takes after mom in being an absolute champion, fighting and BEATING the odds, to be the healthy, happy kitten that you see here now. He’s still just 1 month old, and will stay in neonate foster care until he’s a big kid, but we can’t wait for the day he gets his own red bandana and we can celebrate a happy ending for two very deserving cats!
