Postcards From Heaney County is a short film that celebrates Seamus Heaney's work and complements the Listen Now Again exhibition. It features four of Heaney's poems and four distinct Irish voices: Stephen Rea, Jeanne Nicole Ní Ainle, Aislín McGuckin and Aaron Monaghan. Throughout the film, we summoned magic from the mundane with subtle nods to the extraordinary in the ordinary. Scenes are peppered with juxtapositions of the realities of our everyday lives with existential themes, unexpected imagery, and the musicality surrounding us. Poems featured The Rain Stick, Glanmore Sonnet I, Tinder and Lightenings viii. The film was commissioned by the National Library of Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs in partnership with The Estate of Seamus Heaney.
