📍PALAZZOLO ACREIDE (SR) ❤️ 🎥 @gira_con_noi_sicilia LA FESTA DI SAN SEBASTIANO 10/08/2022 A Palazzolo Acreide la grande devozione per questo Santo è antichissima come attesta la Cappella a Lui dedicata presso l'antica chiesa dell'Annunziata esitente fin dal XV secolo. La festa, fissata per la ricorrenza del 20 gennaio, a Palazzolo si replica il 10 agosto, con la stessa grande devozione ma con una cornice di pubblico, di spettacolarità e di folklore eccezionali. La festa estiva sostituì quella della Madonna Odigitria che era stata scelta per la buona stagione e perchè coincidente con la fiera di agosto e con la raccolta del frumento. Tali validi motivi indussero alla conferma della data del 10 agosto anche per la festa esterna di san Sebastiano. Oggi alle secolari tradizioni che contraddistinguono la festa si sono aggiunti nuovi riti e nuove iniziative che le danno un maggiore prestigio e una grande risonanza anche fuori dai confini locali. La festa dura ben dieci giorni.
