We are officially home 🙏🏽 To have not just one but both boys in the hospital was such a scary and overwhelming experience. Given the circumstances, it was a blessing to have both boys together in a room but it was not easy. We’re still recovering from the hospital, trying to catch up on sleep and monitor everyone at this point. Our boys have zero health/medical history and yet this Rhino virus took them both to the hospital. I honestly thought it was allergies that the boys had until I heard Cruz struggling to breathe. Their symptoms consisted of runny nose, dry cough, extremely fast breathing followed with wheezing. Cruz had no flu while Ezekiel had a small fever of 100 and was vomiting. Both tested negative for covid as well. They aren’t in preschool or day care either so it really was sudden for both boys to be hit with this virus and not be exposed by other little kids or adults. Looking back now it could have been anything though, the constant change in weather, the fires that were by our house and with flu season around the corner please be on alert! Parents/guardians, check in with your little ones. Nearly the entire hospital had children of all ages under this Rhino virus and it was such a heart breaking scene to witness. My advice - if you think something is different with your child, especially breathing patterns, please just take them to the hospital. Better to be safe than too late.... This virus was quick and came out of no where which resulted in all of us being in the hospital for 4 days. #rhinovirus As of today, both boys are getting back to normal and were left with steroid and albuterol to help control their breathing. From here on out I think it’s safe to say that they might also become asthmatic in the future since it’s too early to officially diagnose them with asthma. Please be safe and take care of yourself. What a common cold is to adults should not be treated lightly for children #rhinovirus #twins #health #parenting
