Let’s talk about legs. I spent most of my young life hiding these cuties because media said legs should be thin, but not too thin. Muscular, but not too muscular. Juicy, but not too juicy. Once I realized that other people’s projections of beauty had nothing to do with my body, my entire view of my legs shifted. My legs and my atrophy are perhaps my body’s strongest visible marker of my disability and they took me the longest to love. I think the biggest lie I’ve let myself be sold is that different is not beautiful. My legs are so different than non disabled legs, and to me, that is beautiful. #disabilitypride
