Faith Ringgold, born #OnThisDay in 1930, crafts a big story into this stunning quilt. Part of the painted story quilt series "The French Collection," Ringgold tells the tale of fictional Black American heroine Willia Marie Simone, who leaves home for Paris in the 1920s to become an artist.
