@hidwii, client attraction, social media, and consistency / "Did you ever wonder how a Balinese can use landscape photography and social media to attract new clients? I asked myself that question in 2015, and since then, I have been working hard to do photography full time. Looking at my experience, I can say that if you (1) constantly learn and embrace new technologies, attracting new clients is just a matter of time. But of course, this is only possible when you (2) have a methodology and work hard, like anything in life. If you want to move to Bali to do photography full-time, bear in mind that competition here is high: (3) I use landscape and drone photography to stand out from the rest and attract potential clients by posting on social media. Bali is beautiful, so the landscapes can help me attract people's attention to my work, and by doing so, I can offer my services. (4) To this day, I still don't have a website, and most of my clients (80% of them are from abroad) reach out to me via DMs. I have a sales strategy, but if the potential client knows you and your work, all you need is to make yourself available. In case you are curious, most of my clients come from the US, Germany, Canada, Singapore, and Malaysia. So you could consider this for your marketing strategy if you want to start a business in Bali. (5) My passion is landscape photography, but photography encompasses such a myriad of disciplines that not giving attention to them, in my opinion, is not the best strategy. So I do most of the genres, including weddings, engagements, honeymoon photos, vacation photos, couples, villas, and indoor shoots. I use my passion, landscape photography, to generate leads. (6) I try to be consistent with my landscape content. I wake up early in the morning to capture the first lights of the day. Sunrise is my favorite time to shoot, and I think the light and particular conditions of sunrises help a lot in distinguishing my work from the rest. Drone videography provides me with the most reach, so I try to post as regularly as possible. Opportunities are there for us to take them!" 🎇
