And she’s off to the next step. Professional training...Go, Jada, go!! What a day. What a journey. What an incredible process to be a part of. So much heart has gone into every. single. dog. that was turned in today. So much dog stays with every. single. heart that will now be rooting from afar. Over the last year and a half, Jada spent 5 months with us. She spent two months with the volunteer family who cares for her mother and all of her littermates. She then came to us as that squishy pup for more snuggling, potty training, and socializing. She spent nearly a year at Federal Prison Camp learning 30+ skills from an incredibly devoted lady who has since re-entered life outside of prison! She returned to us to continue integrating and practicing those skills in the world all in preparation for her potential future as a service dog. It is not an instantly gratifying process, yet looking back, the big picture is why we do it. We’ll see if Jada picks a life as a working dog, but the possibility that she’ll impact someone’s life is exactly why every person in this process commits and pours into the pup placed in their life. Today was a proud moment to see this girl in her matriculation cape and walking off so ready with her professional trainer! That first report can’t come soon enough!
