They run the largest open-ocean coral nursery program in the world where the corals grow from finger-sized fragments into reef-ready colonies in just 6 months. Once the corals are large enough, they’re returned to the wild — so far they’ve restored over 30,000 square meters of reef area and they care for over 740 coral trees hat are capable of raising 45,000 reef-ready corals each year, making this one of the most effective/affordable methods for growing corals in the ocean. Coral reefs are FAR more important than most people realize as even though they cover less than 1% of the Earth’s surface, they’re home to 25% of all marine species and they are responsible for producing half of the oxygen present in the Earth's atmosphere.
