7 km 🏃🏽‍♀️✨ fun fact, I used to absolutely hate exercising, like really hate it until I realised that I don’t think I could actually do my job if I didn’t excercise as much as I do. If I’m tired, I exercise. If I’m upset, I exercise. If I need to clear my head, I exercise. If I need to take a big decision, I exercise. If I want to forget, I exercise. I don’t enjoy waking up earlier to exercise. Certainly don’t enjoy having to get out in the cold. BUT it’s that one thing that really does make you feel good at the end. The pressure of working in the fashion industry is actually almost a bit of a joke. It’s ironic because I’ve met my closest and bestest of friends in the industry. I’ve also been helped and supported and accompanied by exceptional people from incredible brands that have been by my side over the last 6 years. However after (almost 10 years?!!) you realise and understand that people turn their backs as easily as they open their arms. They praise you as much as criticize you, you’re useful until you’re not useful. That’s the game! So people fight to keep their spots, fight to stay relevant. I’ve concluded that people will always have something to say about you, your behavior etc so unless you want to slow down your growth you better start exercising, buckle down and only accept criticism that you hear from your close friends or family (or your therapist!) and I’ve also concluded that my generation should be the generation of acceptance and change - We need to listen to new voices, use new technologies, accept differences, new formats and leave space for them to grow! If we don’t let them grow, they’ll grow anyway, finding ways of doing it that you didn’t think of and then you can’t cohabit together ! Remember how many people hated influencers? Couldn’t stand the sight of them ? Looks who’s driving the industry now ? I have multiple examples I could mention but Instagram has limited my words !
