Our fearless founders Alfonso Campos, an immigrant from Nicaragua and Tarina Tarantino, a born and bred California girl, were early believers in the transformation of downtown LA. Having started their accessories business in 1995 out of a tiny apartment they eventually made their way to the heart of the city to grow their business and add to the fabric of the DTLA community. In 2007 they had grown so much with dozens of employees they needed to move again and began dreaming of a creative space of their own. With all the savings earned from their years building a successful international brand they took a leap of faith and became the proud owners of a historic property at 908 south Broadway and named it @thesparklefactory as an homage to The sparks of inspiration and creativity that seemed to be popping up all over Downtown LA. It has taken many years of blood, sweat, sparkle and hustle to complete renovations that included restoring all the neglected details and beautiful façade that make this building so special. Despite the challenges and ups and downs what they are most proud of is the opportunity they (along with their two girls) have had to be a part of this beautiful buildings story.
