i am forever grateful to have grown up with the same group of people. people who have become my literal, additional family and have shaped who i am. st. george's introduced me to wes smith and his family, and for that, I am forever changed. wes is a true example of kindness; he always wanted to know how your day was and would stop in his tracks to ask you. high-energy and really goofy, wes could always make your day brighter and put a smile on anyone's face. that's why this is such a heartbreak. st. george's fostered such a family-like community, wes felt like a brother. i can't fathom not being able to laugh with him again or never hug him again (he literally gave the best hugs). wes smith will always have my heart, and my thoughts and prayers go to his family and everyone else who loved him so, so dearly. it's our job as humans to spread kindness and goodness when our world is so clearly in desperate need. collectively, we must heal.
