25 Dec 2022 🎄✈️ Christmas looked a lil different this year. I spent a week in Bali (more from this mini trip later!) with my best friends after my 2 week stay in Singapore. Was able to see my parents one last time for a couple of hours before Cody and I flew back to LA on Christmas Day when they came to meet us during our transit through Singapore. That morning, I told my parents that Cody and I were down with food poisoning from our last day in Bali, and in response, they came to the airport armed with warm porridge, chicken rice if we felt up to it, juice, and birds nest, so we could have a meal that was gentle on our stomachs instead of having to eat the usual food at the airport. I wasn’t able to eat more than three bites of the food they brought because I felt so unwell but my heart was so full. I don’t deserve my parents. I already miss them so so much. It’s weird because the older I get, the harder it is for me to say bye to them at the airport. This trip back to Singapore meant a lot to me- it was the first trip back in years due to the pandemic + me being reluctant to leave LA due to work, and it was Cody’s first trip to Singapore to meet my family. Time flew by and I can’t believe it’s already over. Family truly means everything to me. I don’t say it often because it feels like I don’t deserve to say that since I don’t live with them and I am not there to share in whatever problems life brings, nor am I there to celebrate important things with them. But I love my family and I only hope I can give back to them someday. Will share more pics from both Singapore and Bali soon!!!
