‘Dream Too Much’ (1/3) - written by me, recited by the beautiful @barackobamaofficial for @guccibeauty x @beautypapersmag campaign Directed by @simonemmettstudio: “Sometimes I sit and think, And gaze out the double glaze Without a single blink, The trees wave in the wind, So I wave back, Birds fly through broken skies, I sit and wish I could do that, The rain falls up, Though the sun still shines down, Societal perceptions aren’t so corrupt And can no longer remove a young kings crown, The queen works hard and gets what she deserves, True as what’s written in documented proverbs. Does this all feel far fetched? the boundaries of physics and society Begin to feel like a crutch, Sometimes I sit and wonder if I Dream Too Much” First time writing a series of poems for an official campaign, still can’t believe it, so honoured to be involved working with both @gucci @guccibeauty and @beautypapersmag and allowing me to be the words to guide the campaign. So surreal to see other people read my poetry instead of myself (feeling like one ghost writer lol). I would’ve never thought all those years ago when I started writing these poems in my bedroom I’d be able to do this one day, I just feel truly blessed man. Times like this I just want to thank everyone and anyone who’s believed in my work and encouraged me to keep going, I wouldn’t be doing these things if wasn’t for you.
