At NTT DATA, we support people with disabilities and believe everyone should be able to find fulfillment in sports. That’s why we are sponsoring a group of visually impaired Indian cricketers who are training for the T-20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind, held in India in Dec. 2022 Step one was a fifteen-day camp for 56 players, organized in partnership with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. At the camp's conclusion in July, 29 players were selected to compete for 17 spots on the final World Cup team. The 29 are now in the middle of an intense, five-month cricket and life skill training program that is also sponsored by NTT DATA. Players will receive a monthly stipend so they can focus full-time on their training schedules in the run-up to the tournament. May the best cricketers win!
