November marks the start of medlar season. Resembling large rosehips, medlar fruit was very popular in medieval times. If you are lucky enough to have a medlar tree in your garden (you can often also find them at farmer's markets if not), before eating, medlars should be stored until they are soft and sweet or 'bletted'. To celebrate the season, why not try using them in one of delicious recipes: Medlar Tart and Medlar and Walnut Mince Tarts. Click the link in our bio for the recipes!
