I’ve been going to gyms for 15 years and I still ask where things are! We were all beginners once. It takes practice getting comfortable in a new environment. There are many barriers to entry for women getting into lifting before they’ve even set foot in a gym, let alone wtf you do when you actually get in one. Don’t let one of them be your fear of navigating a new space. Top tips for you: - Ask for an induction by a staff member when you join. Tell them what you plan to do and ask questions. - Have a plan before you go in so you know what equipment you’ll need and you don’t panic and leave early. - If you ask someone for help, check they aren’t in the middle of a set. Be respectful of other’s using the space and they’ll most likely reciprocate. You get better by doing. Remember that noone is watching you because they’re busy worrying about themselves.
