Doors are always opening and closing! This was the first door I saw yesterday on my 39th birthday directly after walking out of the Brazilian Port Captains office with exit documents for our sailboat and crew in hand. We sail south tomorrow for Uruguay. (Thirty) eight has been great. In this wild wonderful year @john.verb and I moved aboard a magic vessel in Brazil. We have swum, snorkeled, soaked and sun-ed...been drenched in salt water, tears, rain and love, met so many incredible humans, learned a new language, faced some big fears and many layers of bureaucracy. Still smiling so huge! I could have never predicted this journey and am so grateful to all the elements that have come together making it possible. So deeply thankful to all the people who have supported us in so many ways; you know who you are and we wouldn’t be here without you - THANK YOU Here’s to birthday cake for breakfast and trick candles for adults, last (and strongest) caipirinhas to date, sunsets forever and all the good that comes bursting in through hard sweaty work and infinite patience with ourselves, each other and the systems we move within.
