I believe that the God of humans took the sun as inspiration for the human heart. For how we burn and crackle. For how we throw light into every available space until we don’t and then the cold and the darkness comes to bringing with it everything that thrives in the shadows. . I see you as a gift. This is the first and most universal truth that I have come to in the shape of language. (The language-less miracles stop up the throat with impossibility when we try to shove their limitlessness into word-talk. So. We don’t do that no more. We know how to let a miracle live and breathe. We know how to look at it from the corner of our eye and give in to the ocean of gratitude that heaves in the deep humility of a sigh.) . As we were saying: you are a gift.
