This is the coldest summer of the rest of our lives!” Here in Spain we are experiencing the second heatwave in one month - the third in 2, and, in the meantime, in England it is even hotter than here! The United Nations reported that the Earth is locked into intensifying global warming for the next 30 years because countries have delayed curbing their emissions for so long. Preventing further warming is within reach, but would require a coordinated and immediate worldwide effort. Reducing methane emissions is the biggest opportunity we have from slowing down global heating by 2040, yet meat and dairy giants refuse to collaborate. It’s up to us, the consumer, to reduce the demand! We urgently need a dietary shift away from animal-based foods to plant-based foods in response to the climate emergency.
