Take a moment away from scrolling to watch the creation of Recherché, my new mural at @kingfisher.sd! I live down the street from the restaurant and one night I was sitting at their bar eating crudo, drinking a cocktail, and drawing in my sketchbook when the man sitting next to me looked over to see what I was doing. We started talking and he was @quanleart, one of the owners of kingfisher! He is an artist himself but since he owns 3 restaurants he didn’t have much time to paint and had been looking for someone to paint their exterior wall. There I was! After sending a few sketches over, Quan chose the one of a Vietnamese woman holding a glowing lily. He turned my usual foliage into French-nouveau style plants so the whole design reflected the French Vietnamese cuisine of the restaurant and the mural began!
