Join us on 31st July to the presentation of the family archive project by @gideonmendel and his son @elimendel at our gallery space in Berlin. What comes next nobody knows. “Welcome to our archive. The archive we carry. This is both a personal story of a family and a resource for the world. This is a way to commune with the ghosts of our past and see the shadows of our future. The archive is alive. Reach out and touch the stream, the myriad of stories, of joys, of tears, of war, of love, and of living. Look up and see the mosaic of history as we build this narrative, an attempt to look back while still facing forward. We invite you to mourn with us, laugh with us, cry with us and see with us.” SYMPOSIUM July 30 / 10-12h & 15-17h Stiftung Neue Verantwortung Berliner Freiheit 2 BRINGING THE ARCHIVE TO LIFE the jewish german archive now 10 am — Project presentation with experts and students. • Scott Denham – Davidson College • student researchers Anders Holmes, Claire Chapman, Breila Fuller, Grace Isernia, and Nina Seijn, Flora Milford • Historian Activist Jörg Kaps – Stadt Arnstadt • Writer & Critic Thomas Medicus – Berlin & Gunzenhausen • family members 3 pm— open discussion and conversation, WHAT COMES NEXT EXHIBITION•PERFORMANCE JULY 31 / 14-16h ARTCO Gallery Frobenstr. 1 THE ARCHIVE WE CARRY 14h • The Archive We Carry: A presentation of the ‘archipelago of archives’ from around the world that form the basis of this interdisciplinary family project.
