So. I have gotten a few questions about this pickup (specifically that gold screw) and I’ve debated whether to share this or not, but here goes. The gold screw that some of you have noticed is there for a very meaningful reason. Last year, at the very end of the year, I received a phone call that changed my life. One of my closest friends in the industry had been in the hospital, sick, and his suffering had come to a close. He and I had discussed the concept for this guitar for a while, and when I got the news, I asked Zach at BrandonWound to do something special for this pickup in his memory. The gold pole piece is a reminder of my friend, and a nod to the guy that I always looked forward to seeing at NAMM. Patrick and I chatted in some way on a daily basis, and now, every time I pick this guitar up, I see a reminder of him. I miss the dude so much, and I hope he knows that he is missed by tons of folks. I’m thankful to Zach and the brothers Frank for being willing to go along with this one little request...it’s minor, but it means so much.
