We made it! The build up of this move has felt so heavy but the moment I woke up in my parents home this morning I felt like the rock in my chest had fallen out and an overwhelming sense of peace surrounded me. I ugly cried with my parents in the kitchen over coffee because I didn’t realize how much I missed them over the years until I bought a one way ticket to come do life with them. I need my village and I could not be more confident in our choice to leave shiny, glamorous California and start our new life here in Missouri. Several people in the airport made jokes saying we must really love my parents to leave a life in San Diego and the truth is, their right. We love my parents so much more than we love California and we can’t wait to plant deep roots in this state because the Midwest feels like home. 🏠🤍 I spent 9 years living in San Diego and although I met some lifelong friends, it was never my final destination. I think today in this moment I might be the happiest I’ve ever been. Thanks for your prayers, thanks for being here - we love you all and appreciate how much you have cheered us on in this decision.
