Boo 👻

.
Make a batch of these delicious scones and then use a ghost cookie cutter to shape them into spooky ghosts with candy eyes 👀 to help them see. Serve them with a bowl of raspberry jam and have a fun and festive breakfast ⚰️ 🦇
These can be made up to the point where you bake off, the day before. In the morning just bake them off!

Maple Oat Ghostly Scones 👻
.
.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1 tbls baking powder
1 tbls sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 lb cold butter, sliced into pieces
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 eggs beaten
Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbls water)
Course sugar (I used turbinado)
Preheat the oven to 400F. Combine
And whisk the buttermilk, maple syrup and eggs in small bowl and set aside.
In a food processor, add the flours, oats, baking powder, sugar and salt. Pulse until combined. Add the cold butter and pulse until the butter is in pea-size pieces. Add the wet ingredients and pulse until just blended.
Dump the dough out onto a well-floured surface and work the dough until just combined. Roll the dough 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Cut into ghosts and put on baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the tops are crisp and golden. Add the candy eyes 👀
